The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced plans to organize the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, scheduled to take place from December 5 to 12 in Thu Duc City and 21 districts in the area, marking the vibrant year-end festival season.


On November 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center said that the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024 is oriented to create a series of events on tourism - sports - music rich in experiences to serve the community, domestic and international tourists during the year-end festival season .

Many cultural, artistic, sports and culinary programs
This is an annual event of the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry, contributing to stimulating domestic and international tourism, promoting tourism economic growth and creating conditions for businesses to introduce products, services as well as year-end and New Year 2025 promotion programs.

The week begins on December 5, with a launching ceremony on the islet in front of Ben Thanh Market - an iconic market that was recognized as a city-level monument in November 2024. Nearby is Ben Thanh metro station - the center of metro line 1, expected to be operational in December.

Activities at Ben Thanh Market area will last until December 8, including a tram parade, tourism exhibition, and cultural and entertainment activities, to honor this relic as well as promote programs during Tourism Week.

During this time, cultural, artistic, sports and culinary programs take place throughout the city, creating a bustling festival atmosphere.

At the same time, the tourism industry also launched the "Tourism Program Design" contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, encouraging creativity and developing unique tourism products.

One of the highlights of the week was the 7th edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, which attracted more than 17,000 runners. For the first time, the race will held at The Global City complex, with supporting activities such as the Mass Sports World Conference (MPW) and the Kids Run.

The course, recognized by AIMS as an international standard, will take runners through 17 historical and cultural sites of the city, from Le Duan Street to Empire City. The race results are eligible to participate in prestigious world marathons such as Boston and New York.

In addition, the city's tourism industry also applies AR (augmented reality) technology to activities during Tourism Week to target young people or the high-tech loving community through AR quiz games about culture, tourism, history and geography of Ho Chi Minh City.

Game participants will learn about the culture, tourism, history, and geography of each district in a lively, interesting, and easy-to-understand way. The game will be held at check-in points of Tourism Week in Thu Duc City and 21 districts.

Saigon tours. This year’s Tourism Week continues to be accompanied by Tourism Week ambassadors - prominent individuals in many fields, promoting the city’s tourism.
